• Precision Brand 316 Stainless Steel Shim is made from a soft (annealed) temper material. • Type 316 stainless steel has better corrosion resistance to most chemicals, salts, acids, and marine atmospheres due to an addition of 2.0 to 3.0% molybdenum. • Fabrication characteristics of type 316 are similar to type 302 and type 304. • Type 316 is used extensively in chemical and food processing equipment, photographic, pharmaceutical, marine, and textile finishing equipment. • Precision Brand is the only manufacturer to offer Branded shim. • Branded shim is fully traceable and quickly identifiable thickness, material type, and lot number are printed right on the shim material.
