Every quote is a small challenge: find the right product, uncover the best legitimate source, verify the details, and help Freer compete to win the business. If you enjoy solving problems, searching for better answers, and seeing your work matter, this role was built for that mindset.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

· Source products online at competitive prices and lead times — then verify the details before the quote goes out.

· Develop and maintain Excel-based quote sheets with accuracy and consistency.

· Turn quote requests around accurately and on time.

· Work with sales and purchasing when a quote needs another set of eyes or a faster answer.

WHAT FREER OFFERS

HEALTH INSURANCE	Blue Cross Blue Shield Silver plan — 100% employer-paid, with no employee out-of-pocket premium. Steps up to Gold during the next sign-up period after your 1-year anniversary.
BONUS PROGRAM	3–6% of gross pay, paid every 6 months.
ADDITIONAL COVERAGE	Dental and vision after one year, plus a $15,000 life insurance policy.
PAID TIME / OVERTIME	Holiday pay after 90 days (7–9 days per year). Overtime is paid at time-and-a-half after 40 hours.

THE SCHEDULE — KNOW IT UP FRONT

On-site only | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–5:30 PM | Overtime after 40 hours

This is an on-site role for someone who wants to be part of the daily operation, collaborate directly with the team, and build consistency in a high-volume quoting environment.

For more than 16 years, this position was held by a friend, teammate, and valued member of the Freer family. He recently passed away unexpectedly, and he will be sorely missed.

He was an exceptional all-around grinder. We are not looking to replace the person he was - we are looking for the next talented craftsman who can carry the work forward and become part of our team.

THIS IS A CRAFT - NOT JUST A MACHINE OPERATOR JOB.

If you take pride in holding close tolerances, reading a print correctly the first time, and producing work you are proud to put your name on, we want to meet you.

YOU MAY BE OUR PERSON IF YOU...

• Have 5-10 years setting up and grinding manual OD, ID, and surface grinders - wet and dry.

• Can interpret blueprints, GD&T, and machine-shop mathematics with confidence.

• Can hold close tolerances on A2, 4140, 8620, D2, M2, and similar materials.

• Know wheel selection, dressing, methods, and precision measuring equipment.

• Take ownership of your setup, machine, area, quality, attendance, and team.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

• Set up and grind workpieces to print tolerance on manual OD, ID, and surface equipment.

• Choose the right wheels, methods, speeds/feeds, coolant, and inspection tools.

• Measure and verify your work throughout the process - not only at the end.

• Maintain your equipment and keep a clean, safe, organized work area.

• Bring the judgment and versatility of a true all-around grinder.
