JG Ball Plungers

JG Ball Plungers | Precision Position Control & Retention Components
JG ball plungers—also called spring plungers or ball detent plungers—are spring-loaded components used to create a detent, indexing point, or light holding force in fixtures and mechanical assemblies (application dependent). They’re commonly used for locating, positioning, and “click-stop” style engagement in adjustable parts, covers, guards, and modular workholding where repeatability matters but full locking hardware isn’t required. Ball plungers are typically selected by thread size and spring force to match the feel and retention needed for the application.
Stainless Steel Ball Plungers
Jergens Ball Plungers are made under extremely accurate machine controls and rigid inspection procedures. Accurate spring alignment is maintained by using a stainless rivet with a long shank on larger sizes of our Ball Plungers. This precisely positions the spring for more accurate ball travel and provides positive control of spring pressure. By minimizing the lining pin head thickness, we can use the longest possible springs.
