Halder spherical plain washers—often called self‑aligning spherical washers—are used under bolt heads or nuts to help compensate for slightly angled or non-parallel bearing surfaces (application dependent). By allowing the washer faces to self-align, spherical washer sets can help improve contact area and distribute load more evenly than a flat washer in misalignment situations (application dependent). They’re commonly used in fixture building, machine setups, and industrial assemblies where alignment isn’t perfectly square or where you want more consistent seating under clamp loads.
