Halder lateral spring plungers—also called side spring plungers or side‑action spring-loaded plungers—are used when you need spring force from the side for locating, detent, or indexing functions in fixtures and machine elements (application dependent). Instead of pushing straight out of the threaded body like a standard spring plunger, lateral designs apply force laterally, which can be useful for side locating against a part edge, holding a component in a groove, or creating a detent feel in an adjustable mechanism (application dependent).
