Halder floating clamps are workholding clamps designed to provide repeatable clamping while accommodating minor variation in part position, surface angle, or stack-up (application dependent). “Floating” or compensating clamp designs are commonly used in fixtures where parts may not seat perfectly the same way every cycle, or where you want the clamp to self-adjust for better contact and more consistent clamp-up. These clamps can be a strong choice for production environments focused on repeatability and reduced setup sensitivity (application dependent).

Position-Flexible Clamps for Low-Warpage Workpiece Clamping - Floating clamps, so-called position-flexible or clamps which float, are used to clamp and simultaneous support overdetermined or additional clamping points on components. The floating clamp is spring loaded and contacts the workpiece with a slight spring force. Thereby a low-warpage clamping of components is guaranteed. Even sophisticated workpieces can be clamped for reinforcement to beads, ribs and shackles. This inhibits vibrations during processing.
